Rotary Club Visakhapatnam South ( RCVS )-23310 is one of the active clubs in Rotary district 3020 of zone 6A. The charter was awarded in the year 1986. Fourth chartered club in Visakhapatnam ,a major port city in India. Visakhapatnam is one of the fastest developing cities in INDIA/ASIA as per the recent survey published in media. It's development is spread in all directions and sectors such as Industrial, Education and Tourism etc.

Rotary Club of Visakhapatnam South was chartered on 08.01.1986 in the industrial area of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh India. The Club was started by Rtn.V.K.Reddy and his friends in a humble way in 1986 and is operating its services since then uninterruptedly and rendering services to the needy people of the area. The Club had constructed its own building during 1991-92 to strengthen its activities.
The Club has started some continuous permanent service projects at regular intervals by its past presidents. It is to be lauded that services are added not stopped in these 25 years. Club has got it’s own premises for meeting n fellowship.

Over the past twenty five years RCVS’s members have involved in humanitarian service, both locally and internationally. Our programs address such concerns as health care, hunger, poverty, Blood Donation, illiteracy, and the environment. We as Rotarians experience the fulfillment that comes from giving back to the community. Our club has been in the forefront of eradication of polio through active participation in every NID. RCVS has conducted many health camps, Blood donation programs and fruits distribution to school children, eye testing campaign’s and many more. With more than 32,000 clubs in over 200 countries & geographical areas, Rotarians gain an understanding of humanitarian issues through international service projects and exchange programs.One of Rotary’s highest objectives is to build goodwill and peace throughout the world.

RCVS has been a forerunner in International Service. Our Club’s flags adorn the meetings of many international Clubs and our members actively participate and build bonds wherever they travel. RCVS’s membership is a medley of people from diverse backgrounds – Most of our club members are first generation enterprenuers,involved in manufacturing….infrastructure sector to service sector, doctors, engineers etc. These professionals bring their expertise to our Club’s various projects and prove the fact that the “whole is greater than the sum of its parts”.

Rotary Club Visakhapatnam South is part of Rotary International (District 3020), which is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2M business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.

The Object of Rotary
To encourage and foster the ideal  of  service as a basis  of  worthy  enterprise and,  in  particular,  to encourage and foster:

  • FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
  • FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding,  goodwill,  and  peace  through a  world  fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Based on the Object of Rotary, the Avenue of Service  are Rotary’s  philosophical  cornerstone and  the  foundation on which club activity is based:

  • Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club
  • Vocational Service encourages Rotarians to serve others through their vocations and to practice high ethical standards
  • Community Service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community
  • International Service encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary’s humanitarian  reach  around the  globe  and  to promote world understanding and peace
  • New Generations Service recognizes the  positive  change  implemented  by  youth  and  young  adults  through  leadership, development activities, service projects, and exchange programs
